I came into cannabis in 2014 as a media guy. I co-founded Cashinbis, a platform covering the legal cannabis and hemp industry, and produced Green Rush Expo, the first cannabis event in San Diego. For two years my job was interviewing dispensary owners and operators.
The same complaint came up in almost every conversation. These were real retail businesses, and no ad platform would take their money while no agency understood how they worked. In 2017 I started Foottraffik to fix that, the first SEO agency built only for cannabis dispensaries.
Foottraffik grew into paid search and programmatic advertising, partnered with MediaJel in 2019, and MediaJel acquired it in 2021 in an 8-figure deal. I stayed about two years to see the transition through.
What the MediaJel acquisition proved
In October 2025 I launched Nearfront to run the same playbook with AI agents: review requests over iMessage, Google Business Profile work, ranking grids for every location, live reporting and tracking of what AI assistants say about a brand. BlueMap followed for high-ticket service businesses outside cannabis.
How I work
I start with the grid. Before any proposal I check where your locations actually rank across your city, so the first conversation starts from your actual map.
After that the work is unglamorous and it compounds: profiles kept accurate, reviews arriving every week, pages that answer real questions, and reporting you can open yourself at any time.
Where to find me
I write the AI SEO Trailblazers newsletter about ranking in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and I host the SEO Rockstars podcast. I have also spoken at MJBizCon.
More about Guillermo
How did Guillermo Bravo get into cannabis marketing?
He came in through media. In 2014 he co-founded Cashinbis, a cannabis media platform, and produced Green Rush Expo in San Diego. Interviewing dispensary owners showed him that businesses barred from advertising also had nobody working on their search presence, and he started Foottraffik in 2017.
Who does Guillermo Bravo work with today?
Cannabis dispensaries and multi-location cannabis brands through Nearfront, and high-ticket local businesses through BlueMap: veterinary clinics, home services, medical and legal practices and restaurants. Both work across North America from San Diego.
What is the AI SEO Trailblazers newsletter?
It is Guillermo's newsletter about ranking in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. It covers what changes in AI search and what local businesses should do about it. The newsletter page on this site lists the topics it covers.
Does Guillermo Bravo speak at industry events?
Yes. He has spoken at MJBizCon, and in 2014 he produced Green Rush Expo, the first cannabis event in San Diego. He also hosts the SEO Rockstars podcast.
What is the fastest way to reach Guillermo Bravo?
Request the free local audit on the homepage with your website and the markets your locations serve. That is enough for him to run a ranking check before you talk.
